This is a non-vintage wine, meaning its a blend of grapes grown in 2019 and 2020. The wine was aged but not fermented in oak barrels, which is why the oaky character is more subdued. It did not go through malolactic fermentation (MLF) which gives the wine a creamy flavor tht is often found in California Chardonnay. Less oak forward wines are more popular now vs the heavy "butter, oak bombs" from early 2000's.
